This script was created to prepare for and conduct a short first B2B call without turning a script into a licence to keep trying. The sequence begins with an initial go/no-go check, before dialling, and ends with a clear record of the outcome — even when the right decision is not to make contact.

This material is operational and does not replace legal validation. Adapt it to the organisation, recipients, data source, purpose and channel rules.

What you receive

The Markdown file includes:

  • an initial go/no-go check to decide whether the call should proceed;
  • a company and contact context sheet;
  • a single objective and an opening structure;
  • proportionate discovery questions;
  • paths for the right person, the wrong person, interest, lack of priority and objections;
  • voicemail and second-call templates;
  • a post-contact record and suppression controls;
  • a daily review of learning by segment.

The script uses fields in square brackets to prevent fabricated personalisation. If [VERIFIED SIGNAL], [SOURCE] or [STOPPING RULE] has not been filled in, the call is not ready.

Who it is for

It was prepared for founders, sales teams and B2B SDRs working with small lists, who know the source of their contacts and want to connect research, conversation and the CRM.

It can help you:

  • explain the reason for the call without a long introduction;
  • turn a business signal into a question;
  • give the other person a clear way to end the conversation;
  • distinguish voicemail, a second attempt and stopping;
  • keep factual notes in the CRM;
  • propagate objections to a suppression list.

It is not intended for automated calls, purchased lists, contacts of uncertain origin, recording that has not been validated, personal numbers collected indiscriminately or unlimited sequences.

How to use it as a team

  1. Choose a small number of companies in the same segment.
  2. Fill in the sheet with current sources and signals.
  3. Exclude contacts that fail the initial check.
  4. Select an opening and no more than two questions.
  5. Define the outcomes and stopping rule before the call.
  6. Have a person review the script and its claims.
  7. Record the outcome immediately after each contact.
  8. At the end of the session, review what you have learnt and the quality of the selection.

The operator should not read the document word for word. They should be able to explain the context naturally without omitting identity, purpose or limits.

A script that also knows how to end a conversation

The material includes phrases for ending clearly:

Thank you for letting me know. I will leave it there.

I understand. I will record your request, and we will not contact you again for this purpose.

I do not have enough context to continue this conversation. I will review the research before taking any further step.

Stopping does not mean losing an opportunity. Often, it protects the relationship, reputation and data quality.

Before downloading

First read the guide to context-led B2B cold calling to understand the initial check, call structure and controls for objections. The voicemail and second B2B call guide helps you decide what to do when there is no answer.

Then adapt the document to your internal policy and have the process validated by those responsible for legal and privacy matters before any real campaign.
