Buying advertising is easy. Knowing whom to sell to, with which message and at what moment is harder.

This edition of Radar Comercial starts with a simple idea: before increasing its media budget, a company should take a closer look at the territory around it. Many opportunities are already visible in public signals, local conversations, social profiles, incomplete websites, changing sectors and relationships between businesses that nobody has yet organised.

Advertising can accelerate an operation. But when it comes too early, it can also amplify confusion. If the company does not yet know which segments are the best fit, which problems arise by sector or which channels generate conversations, advertising becomes an expensive gamble.

1. Sectors with visible demand and weak communication

Some companies have real demand and an unclear digital presence. Restaurants without up-to-date menus. Clinics without well-structured pages for their specialities. Garages without information for fleet customers. B2B services with websites that look like old business cards.

For agencies, consultants, software development companies, marketing teams and B2B providers, this is an important signal. The opportunity is not simply to build a website. It is to help the company turn existing demand into a sales process.

Commercial Explorer supports the identification of these patterns by area and sector. Instagram Agent helps observe public communication and signals of intent. WhatsApp Agent comes in when the conversation already has context and needs continuity, customer service or qualification.

Question of the week: which businesses in your area seem to have demand but still do not explain clearly what they sell?

2. Natural partnerships waiting to be organised

Not every opportunity comes from selling directly to the end customer. Many arise from partnerships.

Estate agencies can build relationships with mortgage advisers, building contractors, interior designers, photographers, cleaners and residential property managers. Clinics can create networks with pharmacies, physiotherapists, gyms and local businesses. Hotels can connect with restaurants, transfer services, tourism experiences and maintenance providers.

The key is to map complementary services: who serves the same audience before, during or after you?

Before buying advertising to reach strangers, it is worth observing who is already close to the buyer.

3. Instagram as a window into intent

Many companies see Instagram as a place to publish. The radar suggests seeing it as a place to find signals too.

An active account can indicate an engaged team, a sales calendar, launches, events, campaigns, new branches, seasonality and subjects that matter to the business. Comments and interactions can reveal common questions. The bio and links show the maturity of the funnel.

Instagram Agent can organise these signals and turn a public presence into sales hypotheses.

4. WhatsApp for continuity

WhatsApp is powerful because it is direct. For that very reason, it should be used with judgement.

When a company starts with WhatsApp without context, the approach can feel intrusive. When it uses the channel after an initial contact, an existing relationship or clear intent, the conversation tends to feel more natural.

The sales signal here is operational: many companies already depend on WhatsApp but treat conversations as disconnected inboxes. They do not record requests. They do not classify opportunities. They do not know how many conversations turn into a proposal, meeting or sale.

Before automating, choose one type of recurring request and map its journey: the incoming question, the information needed, the possible response and the point of handover to a person. The WhatsApp chatbot use cases for businesses help compare these scenarios; Makers WhatsApp Agent is available with self-service access for operations that need triage and follow-up with human oversight.

5. Small territorial expansion before a large campaign

A national campaign may seem ambitious, but a well-designed local experiment often teaches you more.

Choose a city, a neighbourhood, a parish or a group of related sectors. Map companies. Classify them by fit. Observe their digital presence. Identify partners. Prepare a message for each segment. Contact a small sample. Record the responses.

Within a few days, it is possible to discover that a particular sector responds better, that one problem matters more than another, that the expected channel does not work or that the proposition needs to be reworked.

Closing the radar

Before buying advertising, look for signals.

Signals in sectors with demand and weak communication. Signals in partnerships that have not yet been explored. Signals on Instagram. Signals in WhatsApp conversations. Signals in small territories where you can test without committing a large budget.

The aim is not to replace advertising with manual prospecting. It is to approach advertising with better intelligence.

To turn this reading into a working session, choose a single geographical area and record three things for each company: the signal observed, the sales hypothesis and what still needs confirming. The guide to building a list by city and sector provides the structure. At the next review, compare which hypotheses were confirmed; this helps you decide what to keep or change in the next search.
